Our Story

Borough Chocolates’ mission is to bring indulgence to the masses. Sharing food and flavors is a cherished tradition of many. We want to make an impactful and meaningful statement through our refined flavors through our modernized and classic approach to chocolate. A playful take on our favorite delicacies. European influenced flavors, meets the styles of the early 1900’s New York, to bring a unique, and indulgent tasting experience.

Borough Chocolates was founded in the heart of Brooklyn, New York in August of 2020 by Jessica Minghi. Spending the past decade in restaurants and fine dining, and being abruptly laid off amidst the pandemic, her interest in chocolate took a life of it’s own. Wanting to continue an expression of creativity through food, Jessica began making small batch chocolates from home and selling directly to buyers through social media and other outlets. The chocolates became a big hit amongst friends and family while working out of her home studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Word caught on and now, here we are!

The name Borough Chocolates was decided on in effort to preserve the importance of the location where the bonbons were being produced and sold. The chocolates are skillfully crafted in one of the five Boroughs of New York City. It was important for her to use a name which uniquely represented New York and its importance and role in her life and career. Without that New York hustle and community, (and New Yorker’s general interest in anything artisan), Borough Chocolates would have never landed in position they have today.

Jessica carries a deep passion for her craft and is excited to showcase her years of collected knowledge in pastry with you.
