Jessica Minghi founded Borough Chocolates in the heart of Brooklyn, New York in August of 2020. Spending the past decade in restaurants and fine dining, she was abruptly laid off amidst the pandemic and was left without a job. Wanting to express her creativity and continue to pursue her passion, Jessica began making small batch chocolates from home to see where it would lead. The chocolates became a big hit amongst friends and family, and soon enough, was shipping nationwide! Borough Chocolates is growing more and more everyday. Thank you all for your continual support!
The name Borough Chocolates was decided on in effort to preserve the importance of where they are made. Not just because the chocolates are made in one of the five Boroughs of New York City, but to have a name which uniquely represented New York and it's importance and role in her life and career.
Each chocolate is individually hand painted and produced in small batches to ensure quality and exclusivity. Custom orders and flavors are also available upon request. Our flavors are constantly evolving and changing, be sure to check back frequently!
All flavors including alcohol have less than 1 gram per bonbon and are kid and pregnancy safe!

Bonbons and filled bars have a shelf life of a little over 3 weeks depending on the humidity and heat in your location. In warmer months they should consumed within 1-2 weeks. Chocolate does not like warm weather so when caring for your chocolates, keep them in a cool and dry place. Preferably wine cellar temperature is ideal. Do not put the chocolates in the fridge as chocolate hates moisture! Bonbons can be frozen in air tight containers for as long as needed, but will need to defrost in the refrigerator, (this is an exception as it helps them maintain their shine at a slower defrosting rate). Eat, share, and enjoy!
In order to comply with Covid-19 safety standards, as well as chocolate being a perishable food item, we do not issue exchanges. If there are difficulties with an order we will do everything in our control to either replace or refund your purchase depending on the circumstances. We take pride in providing reasonable and generous customer service even as a small and evolving business. Taking care of our customers and their satisfaction is the number one priority.
If you are planning on placing a large order, Borough Chocolates asks for a two week notice in order to ensure the order can be fulfilled. There is always room to make magic happen, but as a courtesy and assurance, we ask for a small heads up. For inquiries, email firstname.lastname@example.org
